Starbucks® Mobile App Is Powered By Retter

Have you noticed a recent change in the Starbucks Türkiye mobile app?

What may appear to be a small update is actually the result of a multi-year digital transformation journey. We’re proud to share that the Starbucks Türkiye app is now officially powered by Retter, running fully on our Rio platform across more than 750 stores nationwide.

Our partnership with Alshaya Türkiye began in November 2020, at a time when agility, scalability, and cloud-native architecture were more critical than ever. During the early days of the pandemic, we worked closely with their team to migrate the app from a closed-loop system to an AWS serverless infrastructure, setting the foundation for a more resilient and future-proof experience.

Fast forward to 2024, and we’ve taken the final leap: the Starbucks Türkiye mobile experience is now fully hosted and managed through Rio, our own next-generation serverless platform designed to simplify infrastructure at scale.

What began as a migration project has evolved into a long-term partnership rooted in shared goals: reliability, performance, and constant innovation.
